Sklostroj Turnov CZ, s.r.o. celebrated its 70-year long history in 2020. It used to be part of two antagonistic economical systems, a part of a big industrial groups as well as an independent enterprise. It was placed during the time in three different countries, still based with the headquarter in Turnov. Let’s have a look together the most important moments in the company’s exciting history.
The company was founded under the name “Glass service plant”, as a state-owned company.
Change of name to “Glass machinery and foundry, national enterprise“. The company has four subsidiaries placed in: Brno (today an independent company BRNOFORM), Primetice near Znojmo (today “Sklarske stroje Znojmo, s.r.o.” – this company remained part of SKLOSTROJ), Nova Ves nad Luznici (today called SKLOFORM s.r.o.) and in Brodek u Konice. The whole unit used to be part of a consortium called GLASS UNION
Laying of the foundation-stone of the new production facility.
Production of the first machine IS 6 of the type AL 106, which has been supplied to the glass factory in Dubi nearby Teplice (Today, it belongs to O-I)
Approval of trademark, which is the official mark of the company.
Supply of IS 6, type AL 106 to USSR
Name changed to “SKLOSTROJ, national enterprise “
Installation of the mainframe computer EC 1021
Purchasing and implementation of a NNPB license.
Production of the first machine IS 2 with electronic timing system, type AL 102.
Severance from the GLASS UNION and transforming to an independent state owned company SKLOSTROJ.
The first active participation at the fair GLASSTEC in Düsseldorf
Privatization of the company, the name “Sklářské strojírny, s.r.o.“ was used shortly and than changed to “Sklostroj Turnov CZ, s.r.o.“ after finishing of the privatization process.
The first certification according to ISO 9001.
Opening of the mould production shop.
R & D switching to 3D CAD/CAM system UNIGRAPHICS
Release of the patented Electronic Pushers – the very first in the world - fully electric.
Supply of IS 8, type AL 118-2 to China
Technology based on SKLOSTROJ’s patented equipment to improve BB production.
Foundation of the subsidiary “Sklostroj Turnov RU“ based in Moscow servicing more than 100 production lines supplied to Russia since 1994.

Implementation of the MFG PRO information system and CMR Sales Logics
Oficial announcement of ISS platform at Glasstec exhibition in 2010. The new generation machine type with 110 servo-axis on 8 section machine.
First installation of ISS8 TG in Red Echo
Release of new EP16 pusher unit in Glasstec 2016. EP16 further enhances functionality of EP97-04 while keeping very low maintenance, long lifetime and even lower weight.
First installation of ISS12 TG in Verallia Deutschland.
